WFUNA is proud to announce that the 2019 editions of WIMUN New York and WIMUN Geneva were both rated the Best Large Model UN Conference. As these two awards are based entirely on anonymous reviews sent by participants to the MyMUN platform, we want to thank all the students and Faculty Advisors who participated in these conferences. We also want to thank our many staff members as well as the Permanent Mission of Finland to the UN, Best Delegate, World View, Global Leaders, Weland International, and Consules for their support of WIMUN New York 2019 and the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the UN and World View for their support of WIMUN Geneva 2019.

WIMUN is a relatively new Model UN program that has risen to the top in a short period of time. These two awards add to the kudos given to WIMUN two years earlier when the 2017 edition of WIMUN New York received the same award for being the Best Large Model UN Conference.

There is still time to get involved in our award-winning WIMUN program through WIMUN Online. WIMUN Online is currently offered every week, Friday through Sunday, and is available for all high school and university students ages 14-30. Teachers are also able to participate as observers for a reduced fee.

WIMUN Online sessions will offer participants the unique opportunity to learn about current global issues and the decision-making process that real UN diplomats follow to reach consensus on a plan of action to address them; access to the most up-to-date materials and other online resources to help participants prepare for their sessions; receive training about the history of the UN entity that will be simulated and procedures that will be used; participate in a briefing by UN Staff or other experts on the agenda item they have been assigned followed by Q&A; work with delegates from around the world to find solutions to global issues; and choose from a wide range of simulations that include the General Assembly, ECOSOC, UN Environment Assembly, Human Rights Council, Security Council, ILO and more!
