Febrary 16th, 2016, NY— WFUNA is deeply saddened by the passing of former United Nations Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, who served from January 1992 to December 1996. He was a supporter of WFUNA and the work of United Nations Associations worldwide. His influence will not be forgotten.

Ambassador Park Soogil, current President of WFUNA, sends his condolences to Mrs. Leia Maria Boutros-Ghali, in a letter where he praises Boutros Boutros-Ghali for his legacy:

The international community as a whole has held him in high esteem for his outstanding leadership and dedication to world peace and prosperity as was clearly evidenced by his efforts to implement the agenda for peace, development and democracy in international organizations, including the UN. His legacy in this regard will long be cherished in the minds of many people around the globe.
