Impact Collective 2021

Impact Collective 2021 (IC 21), the Asia-Pacific edition of the Citypreneurs program, selected 43 startups out of 366 applications to work on their impact-profit alignment under six themes: Inclusive Health & Quality of Life, Circular Economy and the Future of Waste Management, Sustainable Agriculture and Food, Green Energy and the Environment, Digitalization for Equal Opportunities for All, and Future of Work and Economic Growth. As part of the community-driven investment process, the top 10 teams with the most votes received $US 500K in funding.

Top 10 Teams

  • PhilTech (Cambodia) is a one stop online pharmaceutical marketplace that makes sure pharmacists purchase their medications through a safe and legal channel / relevant to SDG 3

  • Ooca (Thailand) is a telemental health platform that provides counselling services via video calls with mental health professionals / relevant to SDG 3

  • Mayani (Philippines) is a farm-to-table digital platform that connects over 70,000 smallholder farmers to consumers, both retail and commercial / relevant to SDG 1, 2, 8, 12

  • Happy Grocers (Thailand) connects consumers to agricultural products directly, and makes sure that the products are sustainably grown, packed in eco friendly packaging, and farmers get paid fairly / relevant to SDG 2, 3, 5, 8, 10

  • Moreloop (Thailand) connects with factories to buy a surplus of high-quality, pre-processed fabric which can still be used, and resell them on its online platform / relevant to SDG 9, 12, 13

  • Handymama (Bangladesh) is an on-demand home services platform that trains and verifies service providers and then connects them with users / relevant to SDG 1, 8, 12, 17

  • The Green Collective (Singapore) builds and scales early stage ventures by connecting them with consumers looking for a one-stop-shop to adopt a sustainable lifestyle / relevant to SDG 2, 4, 8, 12

  • Onnow (Bangladesh & Singapore) is an internet restaurant platform that utilises technology, virtual menu concepts and digital branding / relevant to SDG 8, 9, 12

  • CarbonClick (New zealand) provides technology solutions to measure, reduce and offset their carbon footprint / relevant to SDG Relevant to SDG 3, 13, 15

  • Ingine (South Korea) is a wave power generation system developer that aims to provide a replacement for conventional, polluting sources of energy in remote islands and coastal areas / relevant to SDG 3, 13, 15

Impact Award Winners by WFUNA

  • Tap Effect (Cambodia) instals a tap in households to provide safe clean water and basic sanitation / relevant to SDG 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13

  • Todo Works (South Korea) resolves various problems faced by wheelchair users in innovative ways / relevant to SDG 10

  • Ooca (Thailand) was selected as an Impact Award Winner as well as Top 10

Impact Award Winners by UNDP

  • KNP Arises (India) facilitates the conversion of used cooking oil into biodiesel to promote a greener and pollution-free environment / relevant to SDG 1, 2, 5, 9, 13

  • Komerce (Indonesia) supports the advancement of online businesses and MSMEs who do not have the time and knowledge to manage their business / relevant to SDG 1, 8, 9, 10, 11
  • Veda App (Nepal) is an all-in-one cloud-based platform for all stakeholders in education, equipped with proper tools to manage processes, operations, finances, communications, and teaching-learning / relevant to SDG 4, 10

To date, 125 teams have been accelerated through two editions of IC and 12 teams have received impact awards from WFUNA and UNDP.
