NEW YORK - During its 209th meeting on November 15, 2014, members of WFUNA's Executive Committee adopted and issued a statement on ISIL. 

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) condemns the recent acts of terror committed by the group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

On December 4, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented to Member States his “Synthesis Report on the Post-2015 Agenda,” the highly anticipated 47-page report detailing the full range of inputs that will contribute to the upcoming year’s intergovernmental negotiations, culminating with the adoption of the agenda in September 2015.

Statement in Memory of  Axel Wüstenhagen

Dear Friends, 

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), including its Officers, Executive Committee and member UNAs would like to send its deepest sympathies and wholehearted condolences to Axel Wüstenhagen’s family. We have lost a great leader and friend who for many decades provided service to the international community, the UN, and the UNA family.

WFUNA is pleased to welcome two new Friends of WFUNA Board members: Mr. Mario Bernardo Garnero, Jr. and Ms. Nancy Prager-Kamel. 

NEW YORK, NY -- The Executive Committee of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), elected by non-partisan civil society organizations in over 110 countries, recognizes the primary responsibility of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the maintenance of international peace and security.

Seoul, Korea -- On January 16, WFUNA Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi appeared as the special guest on Arirang TV's feature news show, After 10, where he discussed the roles WFUNA and civil society play in the work of the United Nations.

As we prepare to close out a busy year of programs at WFUNA and United Nations Associations around the world, the ink is still drying on a new UN General Assembly resolution that explicitly mentions our organization, commends our work and urges increased collaboration with the United Nations. This is the first such resolution on WFUNA since 1986 – a welcome accomplishment to end the year on a high note!
