WFUNA has arranged for a donation of technological equipment to be made to the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP) to benefit their most innovative programs that serve economically vulnerable but academically proficient students who do not have the ability to buy a computer themselves.
In recognition of sport’s broad influence, the global theme of IDSDP 2022 is, “Securing a Sustainable and Peaceful Future for All: The Contribution of Sport,” which creates an opportunity for the day’s celebrations to promote the use of sport as a tool to advance human rights and sustainable development. The panel provided an opportunity to give Member States, Civil Society Organizations, and other relevant stakeholders a better understanding of how youth can utilise sport to build a more peaceful and sustainable future.
FEBRUARY 28, 2022 - The members of the WFUNA Executive Committee met today for an extraordinary session due to the situation in Ukraine and agreed to issue a statement.
The World Federation of United Nations Associations expresses its grave concern over the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine which has led to a violation of its territorial integrity and political independence and marks a clear rejection of the steps outlined in Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter for resolving disputes peacefully.

WFUNA is hosting two United Nations Security Council 2020 Elections Debates in May 2020. The UNSC Election Debates will be held on an online platform; a link will be shared a few days in advance of the event. Only Member States, Observer States and CSOs that confirm their attendance through the RSVP forms listed below will receive the link to attend the event. This event will also be broadcast on UN Web TV for wider viewing. The moderators will be WFUNA Secretary-General Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi and WFUNA Peace and Security Officer Mr. Pablo Angulo-Troconis.
With schools and borders closed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, WFUNA has been working hard the past few months to implement and launch several online programs for a range of age groups: Mission Possible, WIMUN Online, and UN Spotlight. The safety and wellbeing of our participants is extremely important, however we want to give the chance to remain engaged in WFUNA programs while remaining socially responsible.
WFUNA mourns the loss of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, an inspiring leader on human rights, peace, and the work of the United Nations.
WFUNA President Ambassador Park issued a statement on his passing, highlighting his impressive life and work: "On behalf of the World Federation of United Nations Associations, I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Ms. Nane Annan and their beloved family. He will be greatly missed by so many around the world and will remain long in our hearts."
An informal meeting was organized on July 13, 2018 between WFUNA and various UNAs attending the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). UNA representatives from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Dominican Republic and Finland were present at the meeting. The meeting served as an opportunity to inform of initiatives UNAs and WFUNA are undertaking to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Different opportunities and challenges were brought up in this meeting and UNAs also offered their potential aims for the coming years.
