DECEMBER 10, 2018 - WFUNA Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi issued a statement to mark International Human Rights Day:
"This year on its 70th anniversary, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is perhaps an even more crucial and pertinent document to the times we are living in.
As the Declaration turns 70 this year, I recognize how important it has been to promote human rights around the world.
Nonetheless, 70 years into its adoption, a lot remains to be done to make the content of the UDHR a reality for all.
The 8th edition of Human Rights in Action will take place at the end of the month, bringing representatives from 18 countries to Geneva for a week of project management training with the goal of returning to their countries to implement their projects throughout the course of the year. In advance of this year's training, WFUNA has partnered with the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights and the International Organization for Migration.
