Global Citizenship

In an effort to provide Koreans seeking to work for international organizations with up-to-date and useful information, the “15th International Career Fair: Exploring Career Opportunities in the UN and International Organizations” hosted by the Republic of Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and sponsored by the World Federation of United Nations Associations was held at Seoul Startup Hub on October 12th.

Thirty-eight student representatives from 17 universities took part in the tenth edition of WFUNA’s College Leaders at the UN Program. The participants are Korean nationals, selected and sent from their respective universities to represent the school at the United Nations. The student cohort started the program in May, meeting once a week to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dongseo University invited Mr. Kim Yongjae, WFUNA's Partnership and Education Officer to speak at the Global Citizenship Lecture on May 25 for their CAMPUS Asia (Collective Action for Mobility Program of University Students in Asia) Program Participants.

On March 9, 2022, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) organized the Peace Talk on Ukraine in Seoul, ROK. More than 30 participants including diplomats, international organization professionals, journalists, and WFUNA Peace Fellows joined the event, and around 20 College Leaders at the UN (CLUN) virtually attended the event through Zoom.

6 months after launching its online programs, Mission Possible looks back on student's appreciation of the virtual experience. 

Since last May, more than 140 students from 15 countries on 5 continents have participated in Mission Possible’s Youth Connect and Kick-Start Your Action programs. The programs engage young people in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by challenging them to take action on concrete issues connected to the goals. 

WIMUN Geneva, which received an award for Best Large Model UN Conference in 2019, was moved online due to the pandemic and transformed into a 10-day conference (from 30 Oct. - 8 Nov. 2020) unlike any that has been organized before.

WFUNA's Mission Possible Online program keeps expanding! Since we launched in April 2020, students from more than 30 schools on five continents have signed up for our Kick-Start Your Action and Youth Connect programs. High school students from 15 countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania are contributing to making our programs a truly global, intercultural experience. 4 groups have completed Kick-Start Your Action and 4 groups have completed Youth Connect.

Calling all high school students interested in connecting with youth from around the world to develop solutions to pressing local and global issues! Our Mission Possible program now offers two types of online trainings that support young people to become Agents of Change, building solidarity with other youth:

NEW YORK, NY – The World Federation of United Nations Associations [WFUNA] and the International Schools Association [ISA] have signed a two-year agreement in an effort to promote the Sustainable Development Goals and global citizenship. The collaboration will leverage WFUNA’s expertise in youth engagement and ISA’s position as a leader for International Schools.
