2016 was a landmark year for increasing transparency at the UN, including through public hearings and debates for critical positions such as the Secretary-General, President of the General Assembly, and seats on the Security Council. WFUNA aims to continue this momentum through 2017 and beyond.

We host these dialogue events to facilitate exchange between civil society and high-level UN officials, and to increase transparency and accountability within the UN. To enable participation by civil society representatives outside of New York, most of the events are webcast and questions are collected via social media.
