The Plenary Assembly is the supreme organ of WFUNA, consisting of delegations appointed by member UNAs that meets at least once every three years. The Plenary Assembly elects the President, Vice-Presidents (6), Secretary-General, Treasurer and Executive Committee (18 members). The Executive Committee elects its own Chair and Vice Chairs (2). The Plenary Assembly may confer the title of Honorary President upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee.
The Plenary Assembly is responsible for pursuing and achieving WFUNA’s objectives as defined in this Constitution.

Global Youth Forum
The Global Youth Forum occurs in conjunction with the Plenary Assembly and is responsible for electing the WFUNA Youth Advisory Council.
Constitution & Bylaws
The Constitution & Bylaws were signed and entered into force in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on 2 August 1946.
WFUNA is an independent, non-governmental organization with Category One Consultative Status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC); Associate Status with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) and United Nations Organization for Education Science and Culture (UNESCO); Special List with the UN International Labor Organization (ILO); General Status with the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); Status with UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), International Atomic and Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), UN World Meteorological Association and consultative or liaison links with many other UN organizations and agencies.
WFUNA is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Service Code.
WFUNA is set up under Article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code.
